Tribhuvan University has not only introduced case study in teaching of its Bachelor, Master and Master of Philosophy program in general and especially in management but also asked questions in each program’s final examination. There are numerous confusions in case study among students and teachers for teaching and learning, questions setting and its evaluation process. The weightage of case study is about 20 percent of total weightage of question paper in each level. In one hand, we have given more emphasis on case study. On the other hand, there are great variations while teaching, setting questions and guiding to students. It poses some questions. What is case study? How can we apply it in the research? How to teach it in the class room? How to set questions for internal examination and final examination? How to evaluate student’s answer sheet? How to disseminate the knowledge of cases which are around us? Therefore, it is indeed urgent to organize conference to develop common understanding case study among teachers and students.
The main objective of the workshop and conference is to develop common understanding on case study among teachers and students so that research conduction and student’s evaluation would acquire uniformity. The specific objectives are as follows:

  • To disseminate the knowledge of case study research which are nationally and internationally practiced in the field of public administration and management;
  • To develop reading materials of case study in Nepalese context;
  • To conduct exercise of case study for teachers who are involved in question setting and answer sheet evaluation.

The workshop and conference will produce reading materials on case studies including examples of case study. These reading materials will support teachers and student to explore knowledge on case study. There will be more than 50 teaching faculties from Central Department of Public Administration, Public Administration Campus, Balkhu, Central Department of Management, Kirtipur, Mahendra Morang Multiple Campus, Biratnagar, Prithivinarayan Multiple Campus, Pokhara.
